Basic dog Obedience group class
Our Basic Dog Training Class is an eight week group class for dogs four months and older.  Class is taught by a certified pet dog trainer and positive training methods are used in order to teach your dog. In basic obedience group class, we cover sit, down, stay, leave it, come, loose- leash walking, and place. Minor problem solving including jumping on guests is also covered. In addition to teaching specific dog training and addressing minor problem solving, we teach handling skills to owners. These skills include effectively using a food lure, operant conditioning, and learning theory. All commands are taught on a hand signal and a verbal cue by a certified pet dog trainer. For your convenience, we offer two classes in the Kansas City area. Class is held on Tuesday evenings at Parkville Animal Wellness and on Wednesday evenings at Petworks in Overland Park [map]. The maximum number of dogs in basic obedience is eight. Owners should bring lots of small, tasty dog training treats and any other reinforcement.
Cost:
The cost of the class is $120. We accept cash, check, Visa, or Mastercard. Payment is due at the beginning of the first class attended or you can pay online by clicking the following PayPal button:
Class Registration:
To register for class call (816)668-9502 or (913)568-8632. Your position in class is reserved when the Registration and Release Form is faxed to the office at (816)741-8266. If you do not have a fax machine forms can be brought to the first class attended. The Health Verification Form should be filled out by your veterinarian and faxed to the office at (816)741-8266. Your dog must have a Health Verification in order to attend class. This ensures a safe and healthy environment in which all the puppies can interact.
